For another year, the Zulu Social Aid and Pleasure Club gave back to the community by handing out gifts to children for the holiday season.It's a tradition the well-known group puts on for children to celebrate Christmas early with a toy giveaway. At least 1,500 children were invited to participate in the event, which included the giveaway, including more than 1,000 bicycles.Zulu officials said the Christmas event is a time when the group gets the most joy, aside from Mardi Gras Day in New Orleans.Keep up with local news, weather and current events with the WDSU app here.
