Dream House of the Week: Michael Douglas' Majorca estate

Estate with rich history, royal affiliation now on the market

Located on the coast of Majorca, Spain, actor Michael Douglas is selling his expansive property, S'Estaca. As described by the actor in the video above, Archduke Ludwig Ludwig Salvator of the Hapsburg monarchy in Austria bought the property in 1867 and created his own retreat. Douglas describes the archduke falling in love with Majorca, as it was so different from his usual royal surroundings in Vienna. Douglas bought the property in 1990 and has since renovated it to include more modern amenities. There are seven buildings that contain five apartments with 10 separate bedrooms. According to Douglas, up to 20 people can stay at the location in "style and comfort." According to TopTenRealEstateDeals.com, the property in total is 10,764 square feet and includes a library, a gym, a multimedia room and a master suite with a fireplace, terrace and sea views. S'Estaca has its very own olive trees and vineyard — and don't worry, there's an impressive wine cellar in the basement to store it all. Priced at about $33 million, the listing can be found here.
