The inaugural Children's Hospital of New Orleans Holiday Parade rolled Saturday in Downtown New Orleans. The parade began at Elysian Fields and N. Peters Street before rolling down Decatur. It turned on Canal and then again onto St. Charles Avenue before ending at Girod Street. The parade was a one-of-a-kind spectacle featuring many firsts for the city. You can watch the parade again below and all month long on Very Local: Part One: Part Two: Part Three:Part Four: About the parade: The parade was in partnership with the Downtown Development District, Kern Studios and will be broadcast live on WDSU.It featured oversized toy soldiers, a signature 30-foot Santa and custom-design floats with animatronic props.The parade featured high-flying balloons for the first time ever in New Orleans.Those balloons included Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer, Candy Canes, Snowmen, Gingerbread men and many more. Some noteworthy groups that participated in the parade included the 610 Stompers, Mande Milkshakers, the St. Augustine Marching Band, Edna Karr Marching Band, Warren Easton Marching Band, Muff-a-lottas, and many more. There was also a special float for Santa as he rode into the city.
