St. Bernard Parish President is heading to a runoff in November
Republicans Wayne Landry and Louis Pomes will be heading to the runoff in November.
Landry and Pomes secured the most votes in Saturday's races, but neither candidate reached 50%.
Landry is a longtime businessman and former councilman. Landry says he is dedicated to promoting transparency and public access to information in government and is launching a communications platform to allow the public unparalleled access to information.
Pomes is a St. Bernard Village native and has been engaged with Parish Government for 18 years. In 2012 Louis worked for the Lake Borgne Levee District as Supervisor of Field Operations. As levee inspector, Pomes collaborated with the Southeast Flood Authority to conduct quarterly inspections of levees and floodgates.
Pomes has also previously served as a deputy in St. Bernard Parish and has supported personells of the sheriff's and fire departments.
