A Slidell woman was indicted on second-degree murder charges Wednesday, according to the St. Tammany Parish interim District Attorney J. Collin Sims. Sims said Sarah Beth Blackmon, 39, also faces charges of bringing contraband into a correctional facility and failure to seek assistance, resulting in death. The case stems from a fentanyl-related overdose of Theresa Zar. The incident happened while the two women were being detained in the Slidell Jail in November of 2023.
