Drew McCallister has been employed at WDSU for 18 years. Prior to coming here, he worked in Shreveport, LA (all three network affiliates). Although his first love was radio broadcasting, McCallister got his start in photojournalism at KTBS in 1984 (when ¾- inch & beta tape and camcorders were the latest technology). From the Reagan administration through “Fast Eddie” Edwards, from 9-11 to Gulf oil spills, tragedies to triumphs, to most NFL towns, deserts and forest fires, triple digits to subzero, countless storms including Katrina, analog to digital (been there, done that), McCallister’s career (three decades) has taken him to places and exposed him to more life than most could ever imagine- yet, he still has a passion for exposing a good story.
