WE FIRST WARNING WEATHER AND WHAT A DAY IT’S BEEN SO FAR. THE STORMS THAT BLEW THROUGH EARLIER WHERE WE ACTUALLY HAD A FUNNEL CLOUD REPORTED THE VERY HEAVY RAIN, STRONG WIND GUSTS AND ACTUALLY LOOKING IN THE DISTANCE RIGHT HERE BEHIND ME IS A LITTLE SHELF CLOUD, NOT TYPICAL THAT WE FIND ON THE TAIL END OF STORMS, BUT LET’S SEE. DOPPLER RADAR FROM EARLIER TODAY AS THESE STORMS BLEW THROUGH WITH SOME GUSTY WINDS. PUT DOWN SOME PRETTY HEFTY RAIN. REAL QUICK. WHAT I’M GOING TO DO IS ZOOM IN AT ABOUT 11 A.M. THIS MORNING, RIGHT AROUND CUT OFF GALLIANO TO BELLAMY. THIS SHOWER RIGHT HERE, THAT TURNED INTO A PRETTY STRONG STORM. I’M LOOKING AT THAT. THAT PRODUCED SOME SPIN THAT DEAN SENT THIS VIDEO IN. AND THIS IS WHAT I WAS SHARED EARLIER. BUT THIS WAS A FUNNEL CLOUD CAPTURED. AND YOU COULD CLEARLY SEE THE ROTATION WITH THAT THROUGH THE POWER LINES IN THAT VANTAGE POINT AND EVEN CONFIRM THROUGH SOME OTHER SOURCES TODAY. SO AN INTERESTING SITE FUNNEL CLOUD DIDN’T HAVE REPORTS OF THAT MAKING IT TO THE GROUND. SO IT WAS NOT A TORNADO. BUT BACK TO THE RADAR IMAGERY. WE’RE STILL SEEING SOME LASTING RING SHOWERS AT THIS TIME. HERE’S WHERE THEY ARE. THE LAST LEADING EDGE OR END OF THAT EDGE OF RAIN THAT COMES THROUGH. AND ONCE WE’RE DONE WITH THAT RAIN, THAT’S IT FOR ALL THE RAIN WITH THIS PARTICULAR EVENT, WE PUT DOWN OVER AN INCH IN MANDEVILLE, VACHERIE THIBODAUX, JUST ALMOST AN INCH IN GRAMERCY AND ARMSTRONG INTERNATIONAL CAME IN WITH JUST UNDER AN INCH. BUT AS THOSE STORMS CAME THROUGH, BLEW TO WINDS, THE 60MPH AT LAKEFRONT NEARLY. 40 MILE PER HOUR WIND GUSTS. IN THE WAKE OF THIS SYSTEM, IT’S PRODUCED KIND OF ITS OWN AREA OF LOW PRESSURE HERE THAT THAT STARTED TO PRODUCE SOME GUSTY WINDS. SO WINDS AROUND 21 AT BOTH AIRPORTS. THAT’S AVERAGED OVER A COUPLE MINUTES. WE’VE GOT A WIND ADVISORY UNTIL ONE. THERE’S THE CHANCE THESE WINDS COULD REALLY START TO WHIP UP 20 30MPH. GALE WARNINGS ON LOCAL WATERS. SO JUST BE AWARE, ESPECIALLY ON THOSE ROUTES THAT WILL BE EAST WEST THIS TIME WITH SOUTH WINDS. AND WE STILL HAVE SOUTH WINDS THAT HAVE BLOWN SOME WATER ON SHORE. SO FOR THE NEXT HOUR AND A HALF, WE’VE GOT A COASTAL FLOOD ADVISORY, REAL TIME TEMPS. IT’S BEEN REALLY COOL ALL DAY AFTER THE STORMS BLEW THROUGH. AND OF COURSE, WITH ALL THE CLOUD COVER LEFT IN PLACE AND THESE STORMS ON THE VERY TAIL END OF THE MAIN PART OF THE SYSTEM, THAT’S REALLY FAR NORTH, I DON’T USUALLY SHOW YOU THIS WATER VAPOR IMAGERY, BUT WE CAN SEE THE SPIN UNTIL THIS PART OF THAT SYSTEM STILL CONNECTED WITH THE STORM’S NORTH TAIL END OF THE SYSTEM SOUTH, WE WON’T COMPLETELY BE DONE WITH THE CLOUD COVER JUST YET, BUT WE’VE GOT TO TALK A LITTLE FOG POTENTIAL TOMORROW MORNING, AND THEN WE’RE KIND OF BACK INTO THE TYPICAL PATTERN. THERE’S RADAR TO SHOW THAT THIS WILL ALL BE GONE IN THE NEXT COUPLE OF HOURS, AND THEN WE’LL START TO CLEAR SOME SKIES TONIGHT. THIS FORECAST WANTS TO BREAK OUT ONE LAST SHOWER BEFORE KIND OF A SECOND FRONT’S THROUGH EARLY IN THE MORNING. IT’S A CHANCE. PATCHY FOG POSSIBLE TOMORROW. GIVE IT A FEW EXTRA MINUTES. TUNE IN HERE WITH METEOROLOGIST DAMON SINGLETON. TRAFFIC WITH ODESA TEMPERATURES 60S TO GET UP AND GOING. BUT A DECENT AMOUNT OF SUN. AND YOU KNOW WHAT THE SUN IS GOING TO DO THIS TIME OF THE YEAR. IT’S GOING TO WARM US UP PRETTY WELL. WE’RE GOING TO BE TO 86. BUT FEELING MORE LIKE 88 AND 89. AND IF YOU WANT TO GET OUT, IF MAYBE YOU GOT THE WEEK OFF JAZZ FEST AND SOME THINGS HERE AND THERE THAT WE’VE GOT AT LEAST NINE TIMES ON LOCAL WATERS WITH THE WINDS THAT SUBSIDE WEDNESDAY MORNING SHOWING SOME SIGNS OF MAYBE SOME MORE WIDESPREAD DENSE FOG, BUT THAT GOES AWAY. GOT ANOTHER DAY OF MAYBE A COUPLE OF SHOWERS THAT POP. IT’S A 20% CHANCE, BUT I THINK WE COULD BE BE WARMER PUSHING TO THE UPPER 80S, FEELING LIKE 90 OR MAYBE EVEN ABOVE, AND THEN MAYBE SOME POTENTIAL FOR FOG AGAIN. THURSDAY MORNING. AND AGAIN, THAT SAME PATTERN ONCE WE’RE THROUGH WITH ALL THIS RAIN HERE TODAY, WE’RE JUST IN THOSE MID 80S THAT THAT MAYBE 87 THERE ON WEDNESDAY, AS I SHOW THE WARMEST TOWN. BUT THEN RIGHT INTO JAZZFEST LOOKING GREAT. MAYBE FRIDAY, A FEW WIDELY SCATTERED STORMS. WE’LL HAVE TO LOOK AT THAT. BUT AT LEAST FOR THE LAST WEEKEN
