One of New Orleans' superkrewes made a major parade route announcement Wednesday morning. According to a news release issued by the Krewe of Endymion, the parade will return to its original route for the first time since 2019. This route will follow the Mid City route including St. Charles Avenue and will end in the Superdome. Ongoing renovations at the Superdome, COVID-19, and officer shortages all contributed to modified routes over the past five years. The Endymion Extravaganza which is held after the parade ends will also return to the Dome. "Our 3200 members would like to thank the City of New Orleans and the New Orleans Police Department for allowing us to return to our entire parade route prior to Covid. We look forward to a Safe and Happy Mardi Gras for the City and all of the guests who visit the City during Mardi Gras," Captain Dan Kelly said in an issued statement.
