New Orleans Pelicans make big trade up

New Orleans Pelicans make big trade up
LET’S SEND IT BACK TO YOU. RANDI ALL RIGHT, GUYS, THANK YOU FOR THAT. SO THE PRESSURE IS ON DEREK SIBLEY RIGHT NOW DEREK 45 MINUTES. IS IT GOING TO BE GONE. YOU KNOW IT’S FUNNY. FLETCHER WAS JUST TALKING TO ME THE OTHER DAY. HE GOES DEREK IS IT GOING TO RAIN WHILE WE’RE OUT ON THE COURSE? I SAID YES, BET ON IT. FORECAST VERIFIED. THERE YOU GO. WE SAW IT WITH OUR OWN EYES, BUT WE STILL HAVE SOME HOPE. IS THERE GOING TO BE A SILVER LINING THAT DOESN’T INCLUDE A RAINDROP? WE STILL HAVE CHANCES OF RAIN IN THE FORECAST HERE TODAY. RANDI. BUT THE GOOD NEWS IS WE MAY BE GETTING IT OVER WITH RIGHT NOW FOR AT LEAST THE METRO. AND YOU CAN SEE OUTSIDE HERE BEHIND ME SHOWING WHAT IS A VERY GLOOMY SKY AND THE VISIBILITY IS LOW BECAUSE OF ALL THE RAIN THAT THAT’S CURRENTLY MOVING THROUGH. LET’S GET A LIVE CHECK NOW AT WDSU. FIRST WARNING DOPPLER WEATHER RADAR. AND YOU CAN SEE RIGHT NOW MAINLY ACROSS THE METRO IN SOUTH SHORE, SEEING THOSE SHOWERS AND THUNDERSTORMS THAT ARE CURRENTLY MOVING ON THROUGH, ZOOMING IN A LITTLE BIT CLOSER DOWN TOWARDS NEW ORLEANS, YOU CAN SEE THAT BULK OF HEAVY RAIN THAT CONTINUES TO MAKE ITS WAY EASTWARD AND AGAIN, MOVING EAST HERE CURRENTLY AND EVENTUALLY APPROACHING UP TOWARDS THE NORTHERN SHORE. IF THIS DOES HOLD TOGETHER. MEANWHILE, LET’S GO FURTHER SOUTH DOWN TOWARDS TERREBONNE AND LAFOURCHE PARISH. THAT’S WHERE WE’RE SEEING SOME OF THOSE SHOWERS AND THUNDERSTORMS RIGHT NOW MAKING THEIR WAY ACROSS HOUMA, DOWN TOWARDS CUT OFF. AND AS YOU GO SOUTH INTO GOLDEN MEADOW AND THAT’S CONTINUING TO MAKE ITS WAY EAST HERE AS WELL. MEANWHILE, THE TROPICS, THINGS ARE PRETTY ACTIVE. I’M NOT WATCHING 1 OR 2 SYSTEMS, BUT ACTUALLY THREE SYSTEMS. LET’S START WITH INVEST 94, WHICH IS BASICALLY A BROAD AREA OF LOW PRESSURE CURRENTLY CENTERED ACROSS THE WESTERN CARIBBEAN SEA, PRODUCING DISORGANIZED SHOWERS AND THUNDERSTORMS STILL AFFECTING CUBA AND THE CAYMAN ISLANDS, AND ALSO PORTIONS OF CENTRAL AMERICA. NOT GOING TO SPEND A WHOLE LOT OF TIME ON THIS SYSTEM BECAUSE IT’S FORECAST TO ONLY HAVE A VERY SHORT WINDOW OF OPPORTUNITY TO DEVELOP, BECAUSE IT’S GOT TO CROSS THE YUCATAN FIRST AND THEN MAKE ITS WAY INTO THE SOUTHWESTERN GULF OF MEXICO, WHERE IT HAS ABOUT A 30% CHANCE OF TROPICAL DEVELOPMENT. AS WE HEAD INTO LATE THIS WEEK AND EARLY NEXT WEEK, REALLY THE BIG FOCUS IS INVEST 95 OUT HERE ACROSS THE CENTRAL TROPICAL ATLANTIC. THIS SYSTEM IS STARTING TO SHOW MORE SIGNS OF ORGANIZATION NOW AS IT CONTINUES TO MAKE ITS WAY TOWARDS THE WEST. AND IN FACT, THE NATIONAL HURRICANE CENTER DOES SUGGEST IT HAS A 90% CHANCE OF DEVELOPMENT HERE OVER THE NEXT SEVEN DAYS, VERY LIKELY TO BECOME THE SEASON’S NEXT DEPRESSION OR NAMED STORM. AND MEANWHILE, WE’RE WATCHING ANOTHER WAVE HERE BACK TOWARDS THE WEST. KIND OF OVERLAPPING THIS SYSTEM HERE. BUT LET’S GET TO THE COMPUTER MODELS WITH INVEST 95. L EXPECT IT TO CONTINUE TO MAKE ITS WAY TOWARDS THE WEST, APPROACHING THE LESSER ANTILLES. BY THE END OF THE WEEKEND, AND EVENTUALLY COULD FIND ITSELF INTO THE CENTRAL CARIBBEAN SEA BY EARLY AROUND THE MID TO LATTER PART OF NEXT WEEK, ACTUALLY, WHILE POSSIBLY CONTINUING TO STRENGTHEN. MEANWHILE, TEMPERATURES RIGHT NOW ARE INTO THE 80S. SOME SOME SPOTS THE LOWER 90S LIKE SLIDELL 89 DEGREES CURRENTLY UP IN HAMMOND. THE FORECAST HIGHS TODAY WILL BE INTO THOSE LOWER 90S. THIS AFTERNOON, UPPER 80S CLOSER DOWN TOWARDS THE COAST. OUR FUTURE FEEL-LIKE TEMPERATURES BY THIS AFTERNOON AROUND 4:00 COULD FEEL JUST OVER 100 DEGREES. AND IN FACT, THESE HEAT INDICES ARE EXPECTED TO CONTINUE TO REMAIN THIS WAY AS WE HEAD INTO THIS WEEKEND, SATURDAY, AND ALSO AGAIN HERE ON SUNDAY. YOU CAN SEE HEAT INDEX VALUES APPROACHING THAT 105 DEGREE MARK. AND IN FACT, SOME LOCATIONS COULD NEAR 110. AS WE HEAD INTO MONDAY AFTERNOON. AND THAT’S WHY WE COULD BE LOOKING AT SOME HEAT ADVISORIES GOING INTO EFFECT THIS WEEKEND. IF NOT MONDAY. LET’S FAST FORWARD HERE INTO THIS EVENING. THAT’S WHEN ALL THIS HERE, AT LEAST THE RAIN CHANCES WILL COME DOWN TO A CLOSE. AND AS WE TAKE YOU INTO THE WEEKEND, MORE SHOWER AND THUNDERSTORM DEVELOPMENT COULD TAKE SHAPE ON SATURDAY. ONCE AGAIN, AS WE TAKE YOU INTO SUNDAY HERE AS WELL. BY MONDAY WE’LL BE WATCHING THIS FRONTAL BOUNDARY POSITION TO THE NORTH OF US, NOT EXPECTED TO MOVE THROUGH TO HELP COOL US OFF. UNFORTUNATELY WDSU FIRST WARNING, SEVEN DAY FORECAST SHOWING THAT WE GOT THOSE HIGHS INTO THOSE LOW TO MID 90S WITH PRETTY MUCH RAIN CHANC
