After the assassination attempt at former President Donald Trump's rally in western Pennsylvania, sister station WTAE was overhead to capture aserial footage of the location,The view from the helicopter offers new insight into the distance between gunman Thomas Crooks and where the former president was giving his speech to attendees at the Butler Farm Show grounds. The Secret Service noted Crooks fired around eight shots at a distance between 200 to 300 yards away from Trump with an AR-style weapon.A few minutes after Trump took the stage to speak to attendees, Secret Service swarmed the podium as gunshots rang out.Trump would later be seen with blood coming from his ear and on his face. The former president confirmed he had been hit in the upper part of his ear: "I knew immediately that something was wrong in that I heard a whizzing sound, shots, and immediately felt the bullet ripping through the skin."After being pulled up by Secret Service, Trump raised his fist appearing to symbolize he was OK to those who came to see him on Saturday.A male spectator at the rally was killed and two others were critically injured. Officials have not yet released any identifications on those individuals, only saying they were all men.The Federal Bureau of Investigations has taken over the investigation into the assassination attempt.
