AND DAMON, HERE IN SOUTHEAST LOUISIANA, WE KNOW WHAT THEY’RE GOING THROUGH. I CAN’T IMAGINE NOT HAVING AC ON A DAY LIKE THIS. YEAH, AND I TELL YOU WHAT, WITH A VERY ACTIVE SEASON FORECASTED FOR THIS HURRICANE SEASON, WE’VE GOT TO GOT TO MAKE SURE WE CAN REACT TO ANY TIME WE HAVE POWER OUTAGES LIKE THAT. WE’VE GOT SOME PRETTY DECENT CONDITIONS ACROSS SOUTHEAST LOUISIANA SO FAR THIS MORNING, SOME MOSTLY CLEAR TO PARTLY CLOUDY SKIES, BUT IT’S ANOTHER MILD AND VERY HUMID MORNING. ALL ACROSS THE AREA AS WELL. OUT IN THE TROPICS, THE NEWS REMAINS PRETTY GOOD. WE’VE GOT A FEW TROPICAL WAVES MAKING THEIR WAY ACROSS THE ATLANTIC, BUT NOTHING SHOWING ANY TROPICAL POTENTIAL THERE. THE GULF OF MEXICO OR THE CARIBBEAN. AND WE’RE NOT EXPECTING MUCH OF A CHANGE TO THAT OVER THE NEXT SEVERAL DAYS. SO THAT’S A THAT’S GREAT NEWS FOR ALL OF US AS WE MAKE OUR WAY THROUGH HURRICANE SEASON. AND WITH THE AMOUNT OF SAHARA DUST THAT’S MAKING ITS WAY ACROSS THE ATLANTIC INTO THE CARIBBEAN AND THE GULF OF MEXICO, THE LIKELIHOOD OF THAT CHANGING IS PRETTY LOW. OF COURSE, IF IT DOES CHANGE, WE SHOULD LET YOU KNOW RIGHT AWAY. THE HEAT ADVISORY IS BACK, NOT ONLY FOR US, BUT IT COVERS A GOOD PORTION OF THE CENTRAL AND SOUTHERN MISSISSIPPI VALLEY. ALMOST ALL OF MISSISSIPPI AND ALABAMA INCLUDED, AND IT’S ALL THE WAY OVER ON THE EASTERN SEABOARD OF THE UNITED STATES AS WELL FOR US AS THE SAME AREAS THAT WERE UNDER A HEAT ADVISORY YESTERDAY. AND IT WAS ISSUED BY THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE BECAUSE HEAT INDEX VALUES COULD RISE TO 110 DEGREES AT TIMES THIS AFTERNOON. AND INCLUDES HANCOCK AND PEARL RIVER COUNTIES, GOES INTO EFFECT AT 10 A.M. AND EXPIRES AT 7 P.M. TONIGHT, WE’VE GOT THOSE HIGH TEMPERATURES TODAY AND PROBABLY TOMORROW AS WELL, BUT AS WE GO INTO THE MID TO LATTER PART OF THE WEEK, WE’VE GOT THIS TROUGH THAT’S GOING TO BE DIGGING DOWN INTO THE SOUTHEASTERN PART OF THE COUNTRY, AND THAT’S GOING TO HELP PUSH OUR FRONTAL BOUNDARY INTO AND THROUGH SOUTHEAST LOUISIANA, WHICH SHOULD USHER IN SOME SLIGHTLY LOWER TEMPERATURES, MAYBE SOME DRIER AIR. BUT IT’S ALSO THAT FRONTAL BOUNDARY GOING TO HELP BRING US INCREASED RAIN CHANCES OVER THE NEXT SEVERAL DAYS. AS WELL. SO WHILE WE IF YOU’RE TIRED OF THE RAIN THAT WE’VE BEEN GETTING, YOU KNOW WE’RE PROBABLY GOING TO GET MORE OF IT, ESPECIALLY TOWARDS WEDNESDAY, THURSDAY, FRIDAY AND INTO THE WEEKEND. RIGHT NOW, TEMPERATURE AT THE AIRPORT IS 80 DEGREES, BUT IT FEELS LIKE 86 OVER AT THE LAKEFRONT. IT’S 85, BUT IT FEELS LIKE 97 DEGREES THIS MORNING AT 5:18 A.M., THE UV INDEX WILL BE IN THE EXTREME RANGE ONCE AGAIN TODAY. SO YOU GOT TO PROTECT YOURSELF FROM THE DANGEROUS RAYS OF THE SUN. PUT ON THE HAT, PUT ON THE SHADES WHERE THE SUNSCREEN. THOSE WILL ALL BE VERY IMPORTANT. AND OF COURSE FOR THE HEAT, LIGHTWEIGHT LIGHT COLORED CLOTHING. KEEP YOURSELF AS HYDRATED AS POSSIBLE. TAKE BREAKS IN THE SHADE OR IN THE AIR CONDITIONING. GRAB THE UMBRELLA BEFORE YOU STEP OUT OF THE DOOR AS WELL. AND WHILE THERE’S NOT MUCH IN TERMS OF RAINFALL AROUND RIGHT NOW EXCEPT FOR A LITTLE THUNDERSTORM OVER HERE IN SAINT BERNARD PARISH AND DOWN HERE IN TERREBONNE PARISH, THE THUNDERSTORM HAS DEVELOPED THAT WE’RE GOING TO SEE MORE OF THAT AS WE GO THROUGH THE LATTER PART OF THE MORNING AND THE AFTERNOON. I’VE GOT A 40% CHANCE OF RAINFALL IN THE FORECAST FOR TODAY. SO A BIG HEADS UP FOR EVERYONE. THERE. FISHERMEN AND FISHERWOMEN. TAKE A LOOK AT THESE NUMBERS. 1.3 IS THE RAGING TIDE OVER IN GRAND ISLE AT THE WRIGLEYS, 7/10 OF A FOOT THERE 1.6 IS. THE RANGE IS TIED TO THE SOUTHWEST. PASS THERE YOUR LOW TIDE AND YOUR HIGH TIDE TIMES ACROSS THE BOARD. THIS MORNING. IF YOU’RE HEADING OUT TO GET SOME FISHING AND GOOD LUCK TO YOU, HERE’S A LOOK AT THE FORECAST MODEL, SHOWING YOU THAT 40% CHANCE OF RAINFALL. I’VE GOTTEN THE FORECAST FOR TODAY. LATER ON THIS MORNING AND INTO THE AFTERNOON HOURS. SOME SCATTERED SHOWERS AND STORMS ARE A POSSIBILITY. I THINK WE’RE GOING TO SEE THAT BACK WITH THIS ONCE AGAIN FOR WEDNESDAY IN FACT, I’VE GOT MORE RAINFALL IN THE FORECAST FOR WEDNESDAY THAN FOR TODAY. AND THEN THURSDAY AND FRIDAY LOOK LIKE THEY’RE GOING TO BE DAYS OF SCATTERED TO NUMEROUS SHOWERS AND STORMS. WE MAY HAVE SOME ISSUES WITH SOME MINOR FLOODING ON THOSE DAYS, AND SOME OF THAT IS GOING TO STRETCH INTO OUR WEEKEND AS WELL. SO SOME HEAVY DOWNPOURS AT TIMES A POSSIBILITY FOR THE NEXT SEVERAL DAYS, ESPECIALLY DURING THAT THURSDAY, FRIDAY, SATURDAY AND SUNDAY TIME FRAME. UNFORTUNATELY OR FORTUNATELY, BECAUSE IT’S GOING TO HELP KEEP OUR TEMPERATURES DOWN. IN FACT, TAKE A LOOK AT YOUR WDSU FIRST WARNING SEVEN DAY FORECAST AND THOSE RAIN CHANCES GOING UP. UH 70 TO 80% THROUGH EXCUSE ME, THURSDAY THROUGH MONDAY. AND THE TEMPERATURES ARE A LI
