Video shows front row perspective after Trump rally shooting
A new video from the front row of Donald Trump’s rally in Pennsylvania shows the moments after the former president was shot over the weekend.Blake Marnell, who is from San Diego, shared the video he took with sister station KCRA. It begins with Trump not being visible on stage. "The president's been shot. Oh no," a voice can be heard saying. After Trump stands up, the crowd cheers, and Trump raises his fist and shouts. It’s been reported that he yelled, "Fight, fight, fight."Marnell first posted the video to his X account, Brick Suit. KCRA spoke to Marnell at the Republican National Convention on Wednesday, where the California delegate was again wearing his distinctive brick-patterned suit. Marnell said that after hearing the first round of shots, he thought it was a prank. "And when I looked back at the podium, I could see the president was being covered by the Secret Service agents," Marnell said. "I was really just more concerned about him."Marnell said that after Trump stood up, he could see blood on his ear. "But then I saw his face. And I saw the energy, and I saw the defiance in his gaze," he said. "And at the same time, I knew that he was just trying to let everybody know he was OK."Marnell, who wore his signature brick suit at the RNC in Milwaukee, said that Trump recognized him on Monday. "He saw me and came over, shook my hand, and he looked me right in the eye and he said, 'That was a helluva day, wasn't it?'" Marnell recounted. "It's just pretty amazing that he remembers details like that."
