New Orleans Council officially votes to move Krewe of Alla to Nyx's old parade position
The New Orleans City Council has officially voted to move the Krewe of Alla to the Krewe of Nyx's old parade position in the Carnival parade lineup.
The council voted on Thursday to move Alla to the Wednesday before Mardi Gras Day.
The Krewe usually rolls at the beginning of the New Orleans float parade season.
This change in schedule marks a significant shift in the traditional Mardi Gras parade lineup.
The Krewe of Nyx, which has been at the center of multiple issues, recently had its permit for Carnival 2025 revoked by the New Orleans Council.
The decision to revoke the permit came after the Krewe of Nyx faced several controversies.
The leadership of the Krewe of Alla expressed interest last month in the Wednesday night slot, following the Druids parade.
The Krewe captain of Alla said they believe this could be a win-win solution for the Krewe and the city.
