Triathlon practice was canceled this morning by Olympic organizers in Paris due to high bacteria levels in the Seine.The issue is the bacteria levels in the water. There's a Euro standard for swimming and at this point that water isn't cutting it. The cancellation of the triathlete training swim was aimed at keeping athletes healthy for competition. Swimming in the Seine has been banned for the last 100 years. Paris has invested $1.5 billion in a sanitation system. High temperature plays a part in the restoration of the water quality," Pauline Lavaud who is the Advisor to the Mayor of Paris said.The men's competition is scheduled for Tuesday, and the women's competition is set for Wednesday. Despite the cancellation of the pre-race event, organizers remain hopeful that the main events will proceed as planned.
