The 24-year-old sprinting star completed her first race at the Paris Olympics Friday morning, flying to victory in 10.94 seconds in the women's 100-meter. The win qualifies her for the semifinal round.Fellow Americans Melissa Jefferson and Twanisha Terry also ran in the 100-meter prelims.Richardson is the reigning world champion in the 100-meter and is looking to become the first American woman to win the event since Gail Devers in 1996. She is looking to rebound from her disappointment in Tokyo 2020. Richardson ran the fastest 100-meters at the U.S. trials but was suspended after testing positive for THC, a chemical in cannabis.
