The United States won bronze in the men's eight rowing final at the Paris Olympics, marking the nation's first medal in the event since 2008.The team, comprising of Chris Carlson, Peter Chatain, Clark Dean, Henry Hollingsworth, Evan Olson, Pieter Quinton, Nick Rusher and Christian Tabash, finished with a time of 5:25.28 on Saturday morning. Great Britain took the gold with a time of 5:22.88. The Netherlands (5:23.92) took the silver.Eight of the nine athletes on the U.S. team were making their Olympic debut. Dean is the only member with experience, despite being the youngest.Despite an early struggle, the Americans powered through to secure the bronze medal.This is the first men’s eight medal for the United States since 2008, and its 17th medal overall in the event – the most of any nation.

The United States won bronze in the men's eight rowing final at the Paris Olympics, marking the nation's first medal in the event since 2008.

The team, comprising of Chris Carlson, Peter Chatain, Clark Dean, Henry Hollingsworth, Evan Olson, Pieter Quinton, Nick Rusher and Christian Tabash, finished with a time of 5:25.28 on Saturday morning.

Great Britain took the gold with a time of 5:22.88. The Netherlands (5:23.92) took the silver.
