So this Saints defense kind of wants to be like this statue on UC Irvine's campus Peter, the Ant Eater. They want to eat up some of these offensive lines this year, especially that defensive line that only had 22 sacks last season. Brian Braze feels like they're going to be much better this year. He has some lofty expectations and goals for the 2024 season wants to make it to the playoffs, but goals for himself, he wants to work on his run defense. I've got some time this off season to watch tape and, and it's definitely slowing down for me, uh, this year last year, you know, taking *** lot more in last year. Uh, it's *** whole new game from college to the NFL. And, um, so, yeah, I definitely worked on my run game. Uh, that was something that I, that I put *** lot of focus on even now in the camp. Now, the one thing brae really can't work on his height. The second year defensive tackle from Clemson is gifted at 65 but understands how it can work against him in the run game. I think I just needed to learn leverage better and, and that's something that, that also, you know, used my link to my advantage. You know, there, there are plenty of guys that are, you know, taller that, that, that do *** really good job at that that I've gotten to watch and, and, um, so yeah, I mean, just trying to work on my, yeah, pad, level hand placement, first step, all that kind of stuff coming out of my hips. There was, there was *** ton of things that, that kind of just combined together and, and uh I've got some time to work on working on his pass rush as well, 4.5 sacks last season, but knows the edge rushers being effective will help the inside guys even more when we're rushing as ad line, everyone's kind of working together, you know, and, and unless there's *** clean beat, which doesn't happen super often, it's, it's everyone working together, you know, it's the interior guys collapsing the pocket, it's outside guys keeping contained. So it's just everybody working together and working together with Chase Young should be fun for be, he's definitely ***, *** massive human who, uh can move. Well, you know, he's physical, he's, uh, he has *** good sense of, of o linemen, you know, where they're set on him. He, he has good hands. He's, he's just all around player, you know, he's been really, really solid in, in every aspect. Some of the defensive tackles. Brian Braze has been watching film of Fletcher, Cox Chris Jones and his own teammate, Nathan Shepard in Irvine, California Sharif Isak W DS U News.

New Orleans Saints defensive tackle Bryan Bresee is working toward a breakout season. The 2023 first-round draft pick out of Clemson has pinpointed a place he aims to improve in year two: in the run defense."I've gotten some time this offseason to watch tape and it's definitely slowing down for me this year to last year," Bresee said. "Taking a lot more in last year. It's a whole new game from college to the NFL so yeah, definitely worked on my run game. That was something that I put a lot of focus on even now into camp."At 6-foot 5-inches, Bresee understands his height can work against him in the run game, so he's learning how to use it in his favor."I think I just needed to learn leverage better, use my length to my advantage. There are plenty of guys that are you know taller that do a really good job at that, that I've gotten to watch," Bresee added."Just trying to work on my pad level, hand placement, first step, all that kind of stuff, coming out of my hips. There was a ton of things that kind of just combine together and I've gotten some time to work on it."4.5 sacks a season ago, Bresee is also working on his pass rush because the defensive line often works as one."When we're rushing as a d-line everyone is kind of working together, you know. Unless there's a clean beat, which doesn't happen super often, it's everyone working together. It's the interior guys collapsing the pocket. It's the outside guys keeping it contained so it's just everyone working together," Bresee said.
