New Orleans Saints offensive line coach weighs in on rebuilding the O-line
All right, joining me now is Saints offensive line coach and John Benton coach this group as *** whole. What do you see them in about *** few weeks from now? Yeah, I, I, I'm encouraged through the early part of camp. We, we have *** long way to go but, uh, I, I'm, I'm pleased with the physicality we're playing with and we seem to know what we're doing for the most part. Uh, as I said, there's still *** long way to go but, uh, please with the effort, if we keep going like we are, we'll be fine. Eric mccoy. Really in love with the rookie tells *** *** called him *** dog. One of the best rookie offensive linemen. He has seen the expectations for him is gonna be very, very large, I'm assuming. Yes, absolute from, from everybody from us, uh, and everyone on the outside as well. And, uh, he's, he's definitely lived up to the bill so far. Uh, not quite ready to anoint him like Eric is maybe. But, uh, but all signs are positive on tally. He's, uh, you know, he's pretty rare in that. He's got the mentalities correct. He's definitely got the athletic ability and it's, it's just *** matter of refining his skills at this point. When you look at Trevor Penning's skills, the 2022 1st round pick, how far away is he from being maybe that guy who can play that right tackle position for you all season. I, I, another guy I'm, I'm very encouraged with, I think Trevor has had *** very good camp so far. Uh, he, he looks like *** first round right tackle to me. And, uh, and I think he, he feels more comfortable there and so all signs are positive. It's so early in camp, you know, you can't say it's for sure thing yet, but, uh, very, very, uh, encouraged by Trevor. Appreciate it. Saints offensive line coach John Bitton, hoping that offensive line works this year in front of Derek Carr. Back to you.
