Hello. Friends. I'm meteorologist Jims with *** little noon time weather update for you from the weather center. We don't have any noon newscast today because of the Olympics. No, four o'clock show either. But at 56 and 10 o'clock you of course can turn on W DS U get all your local news, weather and sports. Well, we do have *** couple of showers showing up right now on W DS U first warning right up. But I think very isolated. Look at how slow that one is moving slowly. That one is moving there north of cut off *** few more in the Gulf of Mexico. We aren't gonna have much rain this week because maybe you've heard it's gonna be hot. We have *** heat advisory in effect today until seven o'clock. They've already issued *** heat advisory for tomorrow. Like going to have an excessive heat morning, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday. And here are your noon time ish. Temperatures already? 96 in Baton Rouge, 94 at the airport going for *** high temperature of 97 today. Officially at the airport, some locations, *** few degrees cooler but still mid 90 s across the board 92 in Galliano, 92 in Bogalusa. And I think we're going to set some records ironically, or coincidentally or maybe both just one year ago. We were in that very hot weather pattern. Well, we had temperatures that were close to 100 degrees for, it seemed like about two weeks in *** row. Well, we may come close to setting some records today tomorrow, especially Wednesday and Thursday, I think, maybe getting *** little bit cooler as we head into the weekend. But this again is the same weather pattern that we were in just *** year ago. High pressure, you're looking at it right there at the mid and upper levels of the atmosphere, that dome of high pressure if you will just staying right on top of us and it's going to keep us hot through Saturday even into Sunday. Now, here's the water vapor imagery. We also have very dry air at the mid and upper levels and that may be in part because of Debbie that you see right there. We'll show you Debbie's track here in just *** minute. The latest information from the National Hurricane Center, but Debbie, *** rain maker right now moving very slowly toward the Carolinas and then up the east coast and on the backside of Debbie, more dry air probably moving in over the next few days. Here's the latest on tropical storm Debbie from the hurricane center, moving to the north northeast at eight winds at 70 but those winds going to decrease over the next 24 hours. Here's *** look at the tropics. Obviously, the highlight is Debbie, which is weakened, came ashore this morning is *** category one hurricane. But look at that, that's an area of cloudiness that I think is going to be kind of interesting for us. According to the hurricane center, 30% chance for development over the next seven days. It's nothing for us to worry about right now. But some of the models are saying, ok, whatever it is area of cloudiness, tropical wave getting into central America, maybe the Yucatan, then it could exit into the Gulf of Mexico by the end of the weekend. And that's when we may be watching it *** little closer right now. Nothing to worry about. But trust me, we're going to be keeping *** close tab on this one, especially once we get into the weekend. Chance for rain officially today, 20%. That's the way it should play out by about 330 not much rain. After about 630 tonight, chance for rain is going to stay low all this week tomorrow morning. We'll start in the upper seventies on the north shore, close to 80 just about everywhere else and look at these temperatures for tomorrow afternoon. Yes, indeed. Flirting with 100 in *** lot of spots. And if you're looking for rain, obviously, you're not finding much tomorrow, you're not going to find much through the end of this week. Heat advisory in effect today, partly cloudy isolated thunderstorms. We have *** heat advisory in effect again tomorrow. I think they're going to change it to an excessive heat warning because it looks like we could be close to 100 degrees, not only Tuesday but Wednesday, Thursday, Friday as well. Getting *** little, little bit cooler as we head into the week, but still afternoons dangerously hot in most circumstances, that's going to continue at least through the end of the week and probably through the beginning of the weekend again. Join us at five o'clock, six o'clock and 10 o'clock tonight on W DS U for *** complete look at your weather forecast, news, sports, everything. And of course, when you can't watch W DS U, you're in the right spot at W DS u.com. That's what you're watching right now. It's all right now.
