Olympic gold medalist Noah Lyles wants his own Adidas signature shoe

Olympic gold medalist Noah Lyles wants his own Adidas signature shoe
Noah Lyles has said when people see the race, they know something special is about to happen and he didn't disappoint in the men's 100 m finals with *** photo finish. It's *** personal best for Lyles in 9.72 seconds in *** race that came down to 5000 th of *** second. His teammate Fred Curly wins bronze, his second Olympic medal in the 100 m. Lyles is the first American man to win gold in the 100 m since Justin Gatlin at the 2004 Athens games. Everybody thought that this was going to be *** slow year for the 100 but here we are proving that it wasn't. This race came down to 5, 1/1000 of *** second. I mean, that's maddening how small that is. How much of that is the energy of this crowd. I feel like it definitely got in tune with the energy. But at the end of the day, we all train for these moments like this and you can't take it away from nobody. I think it's hard being the world's this man will try being his mom. We talked to her just minutes before her son raced. I told him that he was born for such *** time as this, this moment was created for him. I told him to have fun that we love you, but he already knows that and just go out there and do what you do next up. It's the men's 200 m prelims that's coming up Monday night, Paris time at the Paris Olympics. I'm Deirdre Fitzpatrick.

Olympic gold medalist Noah Lyles wants his own Adidas signature shoe
Noah Lyles became the “world’s fastest man” after winning the gold medal in the 100-meter race at the Paris Olympics. Lyles won an exhilarating race that was capped off by a photo finish, showing Lyles securing the gold medal by just five-thousandths of a second. Lyles’ victory was not just a victory for him and the United States in an event the country hadn’t won since 2004. It was also a victory for Adidas, who outfitted Lyles with the Adidas Adizero Y-3 spikes for his historic feat. Y-3 is one of Adidas’ main collaborators, as the Y represents Japanese designer Yohji Yamamoto and the “3” represents the three-stripes synonymous with the popular footwear brand. But while Lyles achieved a personal best 100-meter performance and a gold medal in those spikes, he wants something else. “I want my own trainer. Dead serious. I want a sneaker. There ain’t no money in spikes. There’s money in sneakers,” Lyles told reporters after his victory. “Even Michael Johnson didn't have his own sneaker. For how many medals we bring back, for the notoriety we get, you know, the fact that hasn’t happened, that’s crazy to me.” According to Sportico, Lyles did sign a “lucrative contract extension” with Adidas earlier this year, reportedly the richest in track and field since Usain Bolt’s Puma deal. Whether we’ll see a signature Noah Lyles sneaker from Adidas remains to be seen, but it’s definitely a major moment for the brand behind the three stripes. Lyles will look to add another piece of gold from Paris as he looks to qualify for the men’s 200-meter final that takes place on Thursday.
