At 2 a.m. Tuesday, Shakenna Conyers and her children woke up to the sound of the tree coming through their roof.

I'm here inside *** home in downtown Savannah. You can see some of the damage that *** tree did to the roof of their house, fiberglass all over the floor couches destroyed. This is the home of *** single mom with four Children. She's asking for help, for her and her family as the storm ravaged this community. What do I do? What's my next step? I, I only know how to be strong at 2 a.m. Tuesday morning, Shakina Conyers and her four kids woke up to this *** tree coming through the roof of their home. I thought maybe Debbie was outside. I don't know. It just was real scary and I jumped up and our first thing I did was check on my kids to make sure they was ok. Shakina calling the fire department for help after they came, she decided to keep her family inside the house through the end of the storm. I don't know what to tell my kids moving forward. Like I don't know, but even in the crisis, she's thankful, no one in her home was hurt reporting in Savannah, Lydia Blackstone.

Tropical Storm Debby has left a single mother and her four children in a state of uncertainty after a tree crashed through their roof in downtown Savannah, Georgia."What do I do? What's my next step? I mean, I only know how to be strong," said Shakenna Conyers. At 2 a.m. Tuesday, Conyers and her children woke up to the sound of the tree coming through their roof. “I thought maybe (Tropical Storm) Debby was outside," she said. "Noises were really scary, and I jumped up, and first thing I did was check on my kids to make sure they were OK."After the crash, Conyers called the fire department for assistance. Despite the damage and ongoing storm, she decided to keep her family inside the house until the storm passed.“I don't know what to tell my kids moving forward. Like I don't know," Conyers said.Despite the crisis, Conyers is thankful that no one in her home was hurt during the storm. The family is now seeking help to recover from the damage and move forward.A GoFundMe has been set up to help the family.
