AND THE UKRAINE WAR. AND NOW IT’S TIME FOR ANOTHER CHECK ON OUR FIRST WARNING WEATHER, BECAUSE WE GOT ANOTHER SCORCHER IN THE PLANS TODAY. IT’S GOING TO BE HOT. I MEAN, WE’RE GOING TO BE IN THE MID 90S, BUT THE HUMIDITY IS A LITTLE BIT LOWER. SO NOT 100 LIKE WE’VE BEEN EXPERIENCING. NO, IT’LL STILL FEEL LIKE IT’S 100 WITH THE HEAT THING, BUT IT WON’T FEEL LIKE IT’S 112. IT WON’T FEEL LIKE 115. NO HEAT ADVISORY, NO EXCESSIVE HEAT WARNING. SO IT’LL FEEL LIKE 95. YEAH, FOR MUCH OF THE THE EARLY AFTERNOON LATER, SOUTH SHORE HARBOR MID-AFTERNOON. MORE LIKE 102 104 FOR THE HEAT INDEX. SO STAY INSIDE. THAT’S WHAT IT SOUNDS LIKE. WELL IT’S GOING TO BE ONE OF THOSE DAYS. AGAIN, IF YOU’RE OUT IN THE AFTERNOON, YOU JUST USE COMMON SENSE, DRINK PLENTY OF NONALCOHOLIC BEVERAGES AND STAY HYDRATED AS YOU LOOK AT THE SUPERDOME, I FEEL THAT I SHOULD JUST MENTION THE FACT THAT I LOOKED IT UP THIS MORNING, 183 DAYS UNTIL THE SUPER BOWL, RIGHT HERE IN NEW ORLEANS. WDSU FIRST WARNING RADAR NOT SHOWING US ANY RAIN. I DON’T THINK WE’RE GOING TO GET MUCH RAIN OVER THE NEXT COUPLE OF DAYS. MAYBE TOMORROW AFTERNOON. A FEW SHOWERS CLOSE TO THE COAST, BUT HERE ARE YOUR TEMPERATURES AND YES, THEY’RE A LITTLE BIT COOLER, ESPECIALLY ON THE NORTH SHORE. 72 IN BOGALUSA, 73 IN HAMMOND, 77. OUR CURRENT TEMPERATURE IN GULFPORT. HERE ARE YOUR CURRENT CONDITIONS AT LOUIS ARMSTRONG INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT. THE DEW POINT IS DOWN JUST A LITTLE BIT. IT’S AT 73 AT THE AIRPORT. IT’S IN THE UPPER 60S ON THE NORTH SHORE. THANKS IN PART TO THAT NORTHERLY WIND. IT’S SEVEN MILES PER HOUR. THIS IS THE WEATHER GRAPHIC THAT PRETTY MUCH SUMS UP OUR WEATHER FOR THE WEEKEND. THIS IS THE WATER VAPOR IMAGERY. SEE ALL THE DARKNESS THAT’S VERY DRY AIR AT THE MID AND UPPER LEVELS AND EVEN CLOSE TO THE SURFACE. THE AIR IS A LITTLE BIT DRIER, SO YOUR CHANCE FOR RAIN IS GOING TO BE LOW IN. THE HUMIDITY IS GOING TO BE A TOUCH LOWER THAN IT WAS, SAY MIDDLE PORTION OF LAST WEEK TO THE TROPICS WE GO. THE GULF IS QUIET, THE CARIBBEAN IS QUIET, BUT WE ARE WATCHING A TROPICAL WAVE. WELL OVER 3000 MILES AWAY FROM US. BUT THE HURRICANE CENTER BELIEVES THERE’S A GOOD CHANCE FOR DEVELOPMENT HERE. 80% CHANCE FOR DEVELOPMENT OVER THE NEXT SEVEN DAYS. IF THERE’S ANY CENTER TO IT. IT’S KIND OF IN THE MIDDLE OF ALL THESE CLOUDS. KIND OF TOUGH TO TELL BECAUSE IT’S NOT THAT WELL ORGANIZED RIGHT NOW. WE’LL SHOW YOU THE LATEST ADVISORY. IT’S NOT EVEN AN ADVISORY. IT’S AN UPDATE THAT THEY ISSUE AGAIN, 80% CHANCE FOR DEVELOPMENT. BUT LET ME SHOW YOU ONE COMPUTER MODEL, WHICH IS ENCOURAGING. AND THIS IS ONE THAT ACTUALLY HAD A REAL GOOD HANDLE ON DEBBY. THIS IS THE GFS. LET’S GO AHEAD AND SHOW YOU WHAT THEY EXPECTED TO DO. TAKE A LITTLE BIT OF A TURN TO THE NORTH. IT’S THE BERMUDA HIGH MAKES ITS WAY A LITTLE BIT FARTHER TO THE EAST. SO THIS IS ONE SCENARIO. OBVIOUSLY WE’RE GOING TO BE TRACKING IT FOR YOU. BUT LET’S SHOW YOU THE WAY THE WEEKEND PLAYS OUT. HIGH TEMPERATURE TODAY RIGHT THERE IN THE MID 90S 1 OR 2 SHOWERS POSSIBLE. CLOSE TO THE COAST. BUT THE CHANCE FOR RAIN OFFICIALLY AT 10%. TOMORROW AGAIN WE’LL START IN THE MID 70S ON THE NORTH SHORE, BUT THE AFTERNOON MID 90S A FEW MORE SHOWERS. BUT WE’RE STILL GOING TO PUT THE CHANCE FOR RAIN OFFICIALLY AT 10%. A MAINLY DRY HOT WEEKEND, BUT NOT OVERLY HUMID. MOSTLY SUNNY AND HOT TODAY. AGAIN, NOT OVERLY HUMID. I THOUGHT OF IT AND I PUT IT ON THE GRAPHIC, SO WE SAID IT TWICE. SEVEN DAY FORECAST CALLS FOR THAT CHANCE FOR RAIN TO STAY LOW, BUT THEN BY WEDNESDAY THURSDAY HUMIDITY COMING BACK A FEW MORE SHOWERS, FEELING AGAIN A LITTLE HOTTER. I THINK ESPECIALLY BY TUESDAY. WEDNESDAY. THAT’

Showers and thunderstorms continue to show some signs of organization in association with a broad area of low pressure located a little less than 1000 miles east of the Lesser Antilles. Environmental conditions appear conducive for gradual development of this system, and a tropical depression is likely to form within the next day or two while the system approaches and then moves near or over the Leeward Islands. Interests on these islands should continue to monitor the progress of this system, and watches will likely be required for portions of the area as soon as this afternoon. The system could approach portions of the Greater Antilles by the middle of the week. The National Hurricane Center is giving this system a high 90% chance of development over the next 7 days. The latest model guidance takes this system toward the west-northwest in the general direction of the Lesser Antilles, followed by a more northerly turn east of the Bahamas. This system poses no threat to Southeast Louisiana at this time, but stay with your First Warning Weather team for the latest.
