White Linen Night is in the books, which means locals and tourists alike can now turn their attention to Dirty Linen Night.
The annual event is celebrating its 21st year and will kick off at 6 p.m. on Saturday.
Ryan Tramonte, the co-chair for Dirty Linen Night, tells WDSU this will be its largest event to date, featuring more than 60 French Quarter businesses.
Attendees are encouraged to walk along Royal Street and pop into participating businesses.
Wristbands will be sold for $20. If purchased, people can enjoy drinks at each stop. The wristbands will be sold in white tents located in the 500 block of Royal Street.
Dirty Linen Night aims to offer a much-needed boost to business during the slow, summer months in New Orleans when tourism typically dies down.
"Summer is tough, and August is the toughest," said Tramonte. "So this really brings locals, tourists ... we have people who message us on Facebook, we’re always in shock , they come from all over the country for this."
Tramonte told WDSDU that everyone is invited to attend and he hopes they will.
"We don’t want to charge you a whole lot to do Dirty Linen Night, so you can come for free because it’s on Royal Street," said Tramonte. "But if you want to drink, it’s $20 for the wristband, and you just go from space to space. We want you to shop."
