WDSU. FIRST WARNING WEATHER YOU STILL SEE IT’S AN IMPACT DAY. TECHNICALLY, THAT’S GOING TO BE FOR THE AIR QUALITY ALERT, BUT SINCE WE HAD RAIN MOVE THROUGH, IT’S KIND OF TAKING THINGS DOWN. WENT TO MIDNIGHT, BUT WE’RE GOING TO START WITH ERNESTO. AND AS WE GO FROM HERE OUT INTO THE SEA IN THE ATLANTIC, AS IT’S ALREADY PASSED THROUGH THE CARIBBEAN, NOW BACK INTO THE OPEN WATERS OF THE ATLANTIC, THIS STORM HUGE. I JUST LOOKED FROM NORTH TO SOUTH, NEARLY A THOUSAND MILES SOUTHWEST. NORTHEAST, ALMOST 500 MILES FROM EAST TO WEST. BUT WE’RE JUST STARTING TO SEE THIS STORM IS REALLY STRENGTHENING. LOOK AT THE SWIRLS TRYING TO GET AN EYEWALL GETTING STARTED RIGHT HERE. STILL A CATEGORY ONE STORM. THE WINDS AT 80MPH, EXPECTED TO BE A CATEGORY TWO BY THURSDAY EVENING. SO THAT’S TOMORROW EVENING. BUT BY FRIDAY EVENING, A MAJOR HURRICANE CATEGORY THREE STILL HAS SIGHTS SET TO AFFECT THE ISLAND NATION. BERMUDA FROM THERE, MOVING INTO COLDER WATER, MAYBE SKIRTING THE SHORES OF CANADA. AND THAT’S GOING TO BE SAINT JOHN’S, WHICH IS UP THERE NEAR NEWFOUNDLAND. STORM TRACKS IN UNISON. GOOD CONSENSUS. STILL SHOWING THAT BERMUDA IS IN THAT POSSIBLE PATH. YOU’D LOVE TO TAKE IT MORE TO BE ON THE WEST SIDE OF THAT STORM. AND FORTUNATELY, BERMUDA MAY BE ON THE WORST SIDE OF THIS STORM IN THE BETTER NEWS CATEGORY. I’VE BEEN SHOWING THIS THE LAST FEW. ERNEST IS THE ONLY THING WE’VE GOT. THE GREATER ATLANTIC. STILL NOTHING GOING ON OVER THE NEXT SEVEN DAYS. THE SAME GOES FOR THE CARIBBEAN. WE GET INTO THE GULF OF MEXICO. THAT’S THE ONE WE’RE REALLY SHARPLY WATCHING AT ALL TIMES FROM HERE. AUGUST, SEPTEMBER, OCTOBER. NOTHING. OVER THE NEXT SEVEN DAYS, WE GET DOPPLER RADAR, AND I WAS GOING TO SHOW YOU EXACTLY WHERE THE LAST REMAINING SHOWERS ARE AT THIS TIME. WE HAD A SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WARNING UP UNTIL 915. I WAS CHATTING WITH YOU ON FACEBOOK LIVE FROM JOHN LAFITTE LAFITTE. THE STORMS HAVE MOVED THROUGH, BUT NOW WE’VE GOT THE SITE SET TO THE ROADS CUT OFF. BELLAMY. YOU CAN SEE THE TIMING OF THE STORMS HERE. IF THEY HOLD THE ROADS BY 1037. BELLAMY. BY ABOUT 1052, THE OTHER REMAINING STORM TO THE RIVER. PARISHES SOUTH VACHERIE AND CONVENT. GETTING THE STORMS. LEEVILLE AND THE TIMING AND THE TRACK OF THOSE STORMS. IF THEY KEEP THAT CURRENT TIMING AND TRACK THIBODAUX BY 751 COULD SEE LAFOURCHE BY 1052. TO GET THE TIMING OF THAT STORM. AND THAT’S ABOUT ALL WE’VE GOT TONIGHT WITH OUR WDSU. FIRST WARNING WEATHER. DOPPLER RADAR. TODAY’S HIGHS. OKAY, THIS JUST CAME IN EARLIER. I SAW BOGALUSA BATON ROUGE TO 100. HAMMOND. SLIDELL. YOU CAME IN AT THE CENTURY MARK IN JUST ABOVE 298 LAKEFRONT HERE. REAL TIME TEMPERATURES 70S RAIN COOLED AIR AND SOME 80S. BUT THE HUMIDITY IS STILL WAY UP, STILL MAKING IT FEEL LIKE 90S IN SOME CASES. BUT LOOK AT THAT RAIN TRANCE TREND. RAIN CHANCE TREND. WE’VE GOT RAIN CHANCES. YOU WOULD THINK THAT’S REALLY GOING TO COOL US DOWN, RIGHT? WELL, THE TEMPERATURES GO DOWN. HUMIDITY IS STILL UP ENOUGH THAT WE STILL HAVE IMPACT DAYS. SO ALL THE TAKEAWAYS. WHAT I JUST SHOWED STILL NO WORRY FOR MANESTO IN THE TROPICS. QUIET FOR US. THE HEAT CONTINUES THOUGH. MORE IMPACT DAYS, BUT THE STORM CHANCES ON THE WAY UP. LOOK AT THE BIG BUBBLE OF HEAT THAT’S STILL HERE. SEVERE STORMS, CENTRAL PLAINS AND THAT IS SOMETHING THAT WE MIGHT WATCH WITH A FRONT THAT EVENTUALLY REACHES HERE BY THE WEEKEND TO GIVE US SOME STRONG STORMS WAKING UP TOMORROW MORNING, SOME 80 TO 80 TO AROUND 78. AND THE MORNING WALK IF YOU’RE OUT, SHOULD BE OKAY. BUT I GOT NUMEROUS SCATTERED STORMS AT ABOUT A 70% CHANCE COMING IN, AND IT’S FROM AN EASTERLY DIRECTION. AND SOME OF THOSE STORMS COULD CONTAIN SOME STRONG WINDS, MAYBE EVEN SEVERE, LIKE WE DID TODAY. TOP TEMPERATURES MID TO UPPER 90S. STILL FEELING LIKE 109 113 111. IT’S STILL GOING TO BE A HEAT ADVISORY AND AN IMPACT DAY. AND WE GO INTO FRIDAY AND THE SAME THING IS GOING TO HAPPEN TO WIDELY SCATTERED STORMS. 60% CHANCE. BUT AGAIN, WE’RE STILL IMPACT BECAUSE I THINK WE’RE GOING TO HAVE HEAT ALERTS. WE GET TO THE WEEKEND. SATURDAY NIGHT AND SUNDAY NIGHT MIGHT BRING THAT LINE OF STORMS THROUGH THAT MIGHT JUST BREAK HU

The good news is with more storms the length of high heat through the day should be shortened, our air quality should improve.

Scattered storms are likely on Friday too.
