Well, it doesn't take *** rocket scientist to know that if she wants to be *** national championship contender, they have to be better on defense this year after ranking second to last in the sec on that side of the ball. Blake Baker looks to turn the Tigers around and his defensive players. Now they have eyes on them to deliver very motivated. I mean, we know how it was last year and it's not gonna happen again. And like I was saying earlier, the energy that Coach Baker brings, like, it really feels like he's, you know, like, re reduce us. Like we last year we got *** little deflated and now it's, now we're flying around and having fun again weeks noting the defense blitzes considerably more and he personally enjoys the aggressiveness. They're playing with something Emory Jones has noticed as well lining up against them every day. The defense as *** whole to me are just fighting way more. You know, last year, I feel like you were kind of like they'll play for three or four seconds and they'll kind of be over with, but I feel like Blake Baker has all those guys kind of bought in and they're all fighting for him after losing three defensive linemen to the draft. LSU reloaded that unit picking up Gio Paez, *** graduate student from Wisconsin, the defensive tackle tallied 36 total tackles while with the badgers and brings *** lot to the table. I think physicality, I bring *** mentality. I bring leadership. I've been in this college football realm for this has been going on in my sixth season. Um I'm 23 but every single year, I'm just stacking experience stacking um relatability amongst other people. You know, we have ***, *** room with not *** lot of experience and I need to be able to convey *** message to them in *** certain way, depending on the person. And I'm here to do my job PAA saying D line coach Bo Davis is *** big reason he chose Baton Rouge, but also adding, it's LSU in the SEC. It doesn't get much better than this reporting in Baton Rouge, Kendall Duncan W DS U News.

Kelly puts LSU through a mindset day at practice on Wednesday

LSU is in the middle of its most difficult stretch of training camp as the Tigers went through the third of what will be six consecutive days of practice here Wednesday at the Charles McClendon Practice Facility.LSU head coach Brian Kelly used Wednesday’s workout as an opportunity to challenge his team from a mental standpoint as the 12th-ranked Tigers continue to prepare for the season-opener against 23rd-ranked USC on Sept. 1 in Las Vegas.Battling sweltering heat and humidity, LSU used the final three periods of practice to work on goal line situations with the focus on building a mindset on both sides of the ball in that area of the field. “Today was trying to put our guys in stressful situations, both on offense and defense, and being able to handle those with the right balance of emotional control, execution, and smart decisions,” Kelly said.“Offensively, we are going to have to be much more efficient and more balanced. Defensively, we are going to have to be much-improved over last year. More importantly, we are going to have to win close games. We are going to have to be mentally strong late in games and we are going to have that mindset that when things get difficult, we are going to able to overcome and win, in particular on the road. “That’s the kind of day we had today. It was a mindset day. I was happy with a lot of things, but today was a growth day for our football team.”LSU closes out the week with three straight practices. The Tigers will use Sunday as a recovery day before returning to practice on Monday. Kelly said he plans to use the final three practices of the week to see which players can “stack” days as the Tigers continue to get closer to game-week preparation. “We are getting close to moving day, like in golf,” Kelly said. “These guys need to understand that over the next few days we need to see who are the guys who can stack days together. Thursday, Friday and Saturday are kind of moving days for us, we need to see those guys who can stack days together.”
