REGARDLESS OF WHAT SPORT THAT YOU’RE PLAYING RIGHT NOW, YOU WANT TO DRINK A LOT OF WATER. IT IS THE WDSU FIRST WARNING WEATHER IMPACT DAY, AND IT’S REALLY TOUGH TO EVEN PRACTICE OUT THERE IN THAT HEAT MIDDAY. I DON’T KNOW HOW THOSE FOOTBALL PLAYERS DO IT. WE’VE BEEN PUSHING BACK PRACTICES LIKE SIX, SIX, 30 IN THE EVENING WHERE IT’S A LITTLE BIT COOLER, BUT IT’S STILL HOT. IT’S STILL HOT, YEAH, BECAUSE THE HUMIDITY MAKES IT FEEL HOT EVEN. DOESN’T REALLY MATTER WHAT TIME OF THE DAY IT IS, YOU KNOW? AND UNFORTUNATELY THAT’S SOMETHING WE HAVE TO DEAL WITH IN SOUTHEAST LOUISIANA AS WE’RE ALL SO FAMILIAR WITH HERE IN THE SUMMER SEASON. LET’S TAKE A LIVE LOOK AT YOUR TEMPERATURES HERE TO START OFF WITH. AND RIGHT NOW WE ARE INTO THOSE LOW 90S. IT’S 93 IN SLIDELL DOWN INTO LAKEFRONT AS WELL. BELLE CHASSE REPORTING 92 BOGALUSA UP ON THE NORTH SHORE. YOU’RE CURRENTLY AT 94. BUT IT FEELS LIKE TRIPLE DIGIT HEAT FACTORING RELATIVE HUMIDITY. WE’RE JUST SHY OF FEELING LIKE 110. AND SLIDELL SOUTH IN THE LAKEFRONT. AND ALSO DOWN INTO BELLE CHASSE HERE AT THE MOMENT FEELING LIKE FEELING LIKE 105 CURRENTLY UP IN HAMMOND. ALL OF SOUTHEAST LOUISIANA IS UNDER THIS HEAT ADVISORY UNTIL 7:00 THIS EVENING FOR THOSE HEAT INDEX VALUES APPROACHING AROUND 112. AND YOU KNOW, A LOT OF LOCATIONS TODAY, JUST SHY OF THAT HERE TODAY AS WE HEAD INTO THE AFTERNOON HOURS. NOW FOR TOMORROW, MAYBE NOT FEELING AS HOT, BUT YOU’RE GOING TO BE LOOKING AT, YOU KNOW, HEAT INDEX VALUES ANYWHERE BETWEEN 100 AND 3 TO AS HIGH AS 106 DEGREES. HIGH PRESSURE IN THE UPPER LEVELS OF THE ATMOSPHERE THAT WE’VE BEEN DEALING WITH HERE FOR NOW FOR A LONG TIME, IS STILL KIND OF IN CONTROL OF BRINGING US THE DRY AND HOT CONDITIONS THAT WE’VE BEEN EXPERIENCING HERE RECENTLY. WE MAY SEE SOME RELIEF IN THE HEAT. I’LL SHOW YOU HERE IN A SECOND, BUT A COUPLE OF SHOWERS AND THUNDERSTORMS HERE DEVELOPING THIS AFTERNOON AS WE TAKE YOU THROUGH AROUND 3:00 IN THE DAY, YOU CAN SEE SOME ISOLATED TO SCATTERED ACTIVITY HERE AND THERE. AND THEN BY 9:00, EVERYTHING COMES TO A CLOSE. LET’S TAKE YOU INTO THE WEEKEND, THOUGH. SOME SCATTERED SHOWERS AND THUNDERSTORMS. ONCE AGAIN FIRING UP AS WE HEAD TO AROUND THE LUNCH HOUR AND THEN DISSIPATING HERE. HEADING INTO THE EVENING HOURS AROUND 8:00 OR SO. SUNDAY ROLLS AROUND AND WE’RE LOOKING AT ANOTHER BOUNDARY HERE, MOVING IN FROM THE NORTH, GIVING US ANOTHER LINE OF SHOWERS AND A COUPLE OF THUNDERSTORMS THAT COULD DEVELOP BEFORE DISSIPATING. AS WE HEAD INTO 7 P.M. SO WE’RE WATCHING A FRONTAL BOUNDARY. IT’S A BACKDOOR FRONT MOVING IN ACROSS SOUTHEASTERN LOUISIANA. DON’T GET TOO EXCITED ABOUT THIS COLD FRONT, THOUGH. MOVING IN BY SUNDAY MORNING BECAUSE WE’RE NOT LOOKING AT A BIG COOL DOWN BY ANY MEANS. IT MAY BRING US SOME DRIER AIR SO THAT MEANS THAT IT MAY NOT FEEL AS HOT HERE IN SOME SPOTS, THOUGH, AS WE HEAD INTO NEXT WEEK. NOW WE’RE WATCHING SOME SCATTERED SHOWERS HERE AND A COUPLE OF THUNDERSTORMS HERE OVER THE MARSHLANDS. MOVING A LITTLE BIT FURTHER BACK TOWARDS THE WEST. WE’LL KEEP OUR EYES ON WITH MORE SHOWER AND THUNDERSTORM DEVELOPMENT AGAIN POSSIBLE THIS AFTERNOON. LIVE. LOOK THERE AT ERNEST AND YOU CAN SEE THE SYSTEM HERE. STILL TRYING TO ORGANIZE. THERE’S THE EYE BATTLING, BATTLING A LITTLE BIT OF SOME STRONG UPPER LEVEL WINDS. HURRICANE WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT THOUGH FOR THE ISLAND OF BERMUDA, AS THEY’RE EXPECTED TO TAKE A NEARLY DIRECT IMPACT. THE LATEST ADVISORY FROM THE HURRICANE CENTER MOVING TOWARDS THE NORTH NORTHEAST AT 14, GOT WINDS OF 100 MILES AN HOUR EXPECTED TO EXPECT IT TO MOVE INTO THE NORTH ATLANTIC AND THEN WEAKEN HERE AS IT ENCOUNTER SOME UNFAVORABLE ENVIRONMENT, ALONG WITH SOME COOLER SEA SURFACE TEMPERATURES AT THE SAME TIME. SO YOUR WDSU FIRST WARNING SEVEN-DAY FORECAST HIGHS INTO THE MID TO UPPER 90S.
