Shawanda Jones joined the WDSU news team as the station's Northshore Bureau reporter in July of 2024. Originally from Tupelo by way of Okolona, Mississippi, she brings a wealth of experience from her time at WCBI in Columbus, MS. Shawanda worked there as a multimedia journalist, producer, and anchor for over a year and a half.

Shawanda has covered a wide range of topics ranging from crime and corruption to homelessness and natural disasters.

Outside of work, Shawanda enjoys true crime podcasts, genealogy research, and time outdoors with family.

As they say in Tupelo, she's ready to "shake things up" and looks forward to serving the Northshore community.
