Elizabeth Kuebel

Anchor/Reporter

Elizabeth Kuebel is thrilled to return home as an anchor and reporter for WDSU News. You can watch her anchoring in-studio on weekend evenings and reporting from the field during the week.
Elizabeth grew up in Mandeville and graduated from LSU's Manship School of Mass Communication. Getting to tell stories in her hometown feels like a dream come true.
An award-winning journalist, Elizabeth spent the past 4 years anchoring and reporting in Knoxville, Tennessee. There, she covered some of East Tennessee's biggest and most impactful stories. She also reported internationally for USA Cycling when Knoxville hosted the Pro Road National Championships. But perhaps one of her favorite assignments was sitting down with Dolly Parton for a one-on-one interview, when the country music icon made her first public Dollywood appearance since the start of the COVID-19 pandemic.
Before moving to Knoxville, Elizabeth spent two years reporting in the Tri-Cities market of Tennessee, which includes Bristol, Kingsport and Johnson City. She launched and worked as the sole reporter in the station's Kingsport bureau.   Elizabeth officially started working in television news before graduating college, as an assignment desk assistant at a local New Orleans television station. She also interned at TV stations in New Orleans and Baton Rouge.
Elizabeth is passionate about what she does and genuinely loves going to work every day. She will always be thankful to you as viewers, for allowing her to tell your stories. You let her share some of your most joyous milestones, your most fragile heartbreak and your most treasured memories. That is a responsibility she doesn't take lightly.
