With *** prayer and *** practice swing. These golfers are ready to make history. We just got *** bunch of great golfers that enjoy the game of golf and we just like to try something different. They start in Nebraska and quickly move on to Iowa. There you go. Nice ball before they're done. They'll hit six states including Kansas, Oklahoma, Missouri and Arkansas all in one day. We, uh, we packed the glow in the dark balls in case we need them tonight. But I think we're going to save them for next year, year. They golf five states and the year before that four states, each year they try to beat their record. It was just something out here that nobody else had done this day of fun doesn't come cheap. It'll cost each golfer about $1000. If, if you looked at the expense of your hobbies, you wouldn't have *** good time doing any of them. It's one of those things, you know, if you enjoy doing it, it's worth every penny. The 12 men grew up together in Iowa and say the trip really isn't about golf because it, it goes beyond just the game. It's the idea of taking *** bunch of guys that you like to spend some time with and going out on to an adventure and, and uh, it just works out to be *** really fun time and time is of the essence, these golfers even chartered *** plane. After all, they have *** lot of ground to cover Tom Elzer News Channel eight Live.

Golfing together is a great way to spend time with friends. Given how long it takes to finish an 18-hole course, it’s also a great way to take in some scenic views. In 1999, twelve friends met up with two ideas in mind – spend time together and golf in six different states. The golf tradition started years prior had grown into something record-breaking for the group, as they attempted to increase the number of states they golfed in. When asked about his commitment to the tradition, one golfer said, “It's one of those things, you know. If you enjoy doing it, it's worth every penny.”To complete their quest of teeing off in six states, the twelve golfers had to charter a private plane. Watch the video to learn more about why these twelve men began their golfing tradition. If you liked this archival find, check out some of our other clips:
