Women’s Day Alliance Board Members (Officers and Standing Committee Chairpersons) attend General Meetings on the first Tuesday of the month, Sept. through May, as well as the 9 or more Board Meetings on the fourth Tuesday, sending a representative or report if absent.  
Board Members, as well as Sub and Special Committee Chairpersons, familiarize themselves

with the WDA Bylaws (especially those pertaining to one’s position), as well as one’s duties as outlined in this document. 

All keep records to pass along in a neat and timely manner, including suggestions for updates to the guidelines when necessary.

President

  • Lead the organization and the Board in accordance with the Women’s Day Alliance Bylaws and Guidelines.
  • Preside at WDA General Meetings and Board Meetings.
  • Maintain notes/records as appropriate to pass on to her successorto the Secretary for inclusion in the WDA archives.
  • Chair the Planning Committee and serve as an ex-officio member of all other committees except the Nominating Committee.
  • Prepare a calendar for General and Board meetings and reserve appropriate spaces with church staff.
  • Prepare and distribute agendas for General and Board meetings.
  • Facilitate the work of committees by frequent and regular communication with officers and committee chairpersons throughout the year.

Records Team Leader

  • Attend Board and General Meetings.
  • Keep written minutes of all meetings.
  • Send minutes to the President for proofing and distribution.
  • Maintain copies of By-Laws and Guidelines, all minutes, and such documents as may be submitted by officers and committee chairs for inclusion in WDA and church archives.

Resources Team Leader

  • Attend Board and General Meetings.
  • Chair Finance Committee 
  • Maintain notes/records for her successor and to submit to the Secretary for inclusion in the WDA archives as appropriate.
  • Prepare and present a budget for the upcoming fiscal year to the Planning Committee and the Board for adoption no later than the August Board meeting.
  • Present adopted budget for approval at the September general meeting.
  • Integrate financial planning, guide budget development, and assure compliance with financial policies of the organization within the parameters of the current and long-term organization goals as approved by the Board.
  • With the Finance Committee, develop and submit to the Board for approval financial policies, financial reporting, and fiscal operations, including appropriate segregation of duties; monitor compliance with WDA Board adopted procedures.
  • Prepare monthly itemized financial reports for the board and present a summary to membership.
  • Maintain and update bank records as needed.
  • Collect and disburse funds as requested by the Board and in accordance with annual budget.
  • Prepare an annual report of the fiscal business of the organization.
  • Consider operational activity changes to reflect potential increases, decreases and/or new categories in future year receipts and disbursements.

Nominating Committee Chair

  • Attend Board and General Meetings.
  • Maintain notes/records for her successor and to submit to the Secretary for inclusion in the WDA archives as appropriate.
  • Submit regular reports on committee activities to the Board.
  • Inform members of duties and responsibilities of board positions.
  • Encourage participation on WDA Board and committees.
  • Recruit candidates for WDA officers and committee chairs.
  • Present to the Board and membership a slate of officers and committee chairs according to the schedule outlined in the By-laws.
  • Facilitate training of new board members.

Connections Team Leader

  • Liaison committee
    • Produce liaison report for each meeting, special reports optional

Outreach Team Leader

  • Attend Board and General Meetings.
  • Establish a committee of such additional members as may be required to perform the committee’s duties, including the Chairperson of the Sub-Committee for Memorial Receptions. 
  • Submit regular reports on committee activities to the Board.
  • Maintain notes /records for her successor and to submit to the Secretary for inclusion in the WDA archives as appropriate.
  • Serve as Board liaison with the Memorial Reception Committee.
  • Organize service projects in coordination with partner organizations and the Planning Committee and the Board.
  • Facilitate distribution of any additional donations authorized by the Board or the membership.
